Selection guide for fire detection
This portfolio entry helps you scope a fire detection requirement with Destiny Computer System. It describes solution areas to discuss rather than a fixed equipment bundle. The products and configuration are selected after the application and site conditions are reviewed.
Equipment and functions to discuss
- Fire Detection Systems
- Conventional Systems
- Addressable / Loop-Based Systems
- Alarm Systems
- Third-Party Access Control Integration
- System Monitoring
- Periodic System Audit
Information for an accurate quotation
- What is the building used for, and which areas are included?
- Is this a new installation or an existing system review?
- What detection, alarm and monitoring arrangements are required?
- Are there integration requirements or project documents to review?
Where a project includes access control or other systems, any required interaction needs to be clearly defined. We discuss the intended sequence, equipment compatibility and responsibilities before including third-party integration in the scope. An integration requirement is assessed for the actual installed or proposed equipment.
Installation, integration and handover
Installation and configuration are followed by the agreed tests and commissioning activities. Handover should establish the operating information and maintenance responsibilities for the installed system. Periodic system audit, monitoring requirements and service visits can be discussed with the DCS team; the proposed scope records the activities to be undertaken.
Confirm the project scope
Ask the team to confirm the proposed equipment, quantities, required accessories, installation responsibilities and support coverage. Any existing equipment to be retained should be identified before the quotation is finalised. Product availability and the final configuration are confirmed for the particular project.
